Janet graduated from the University of Alberta with a Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy after earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary. Her journey into physiotherapy began when a family member experienced mobility challenges, sparking her passion for helping others regain function and improve their quality of life.
In her physiotherapy practice, Janet combines manual therapy, IMS/functional dry needling, exercise prescription, and patient education, always focusing on her clients’ individual goals. She is passionate about creating personalized treatment plans, taking the time to understand each patient’s unique experiences, fitness level, and lifestyle. Her approach is rooted in respect, kindness, and compassion, aiming to enhance each patient’s overall well-being.
Janet specializes in pelvic health, providing comprehensive care during pregnancy and postpartum. She helps women maintain a healthy pelvic floor, addressing issues like leakage, urinary urgency/frequency, pain with sex, pelvic girdle pain (pubic, tailbone, groin, low back, hips), and pelvic organ prolapse. She also offers guidance on preparing for labor with perineal massage and safe pushing techniques to protect the pelvic floor. Postpartum, Janet ensures women can return to daily activities and exercise safely, focusing on minimizing symptoms and restoring strength.
Outside of work, Janet enjoys staying active through volleyball, weightlifting, snowboarding, and golfing. She also loves exploring new cultures through dining and is always open to recommendations for new culinary experiences!
